The Samsung Galaxy S8 brings many big, new features to the device—as well as a few smaller ones. One of those minor changes that Samsung users might immediately notice is the absence of the Apps button: the icon on the Home screen that opened the app drawer where all your other apps live. Instead, Samsung adopted a swipe method. So now, you can just swipe up or down on the Home screen to get to open the app drawer.

It’s similar to the launcher on Google Pixel phones (except on the Pixel you can only swipe up from the bottom). It’s a quick and easy way to get to your apps. But if you’re a Samsung traditionalist and prefer the ‘ol Apps button, don’t fret. You can easily get it back. Here’s how:

Tap and Hold or Long press any empty part of the display
Tap Home screen settings in the bottom, right corner of the display
  Tap Apps button

Tap Show Apps button

By default, the Apps button replaces the app in the bottom, right corner of your display. But you can move the app wherever you’d like on your display. And of course, you can turn it off at any time if you find swiping isn’t too bad after all.
