Apple is hosting a special shopping event this weekend in San Francisco called “Lose Your Wallet.” Between June 23-25, customers can receive discounts and exclusive offers at 36 retailers when they make a purchase using Apple Pay.
The event takes place in the Hayes Valley (near Golden Gate Park) and Marina (near Presidio and The Palace of Fine Arts) districts of the city. Customers can get between 10-25% off at many popular locations, including Smitten Ice Cream, Benefit, Blue Bottle Coffee, and more. Some major locations—like Peet’s Coffee—are giving you $1 all beverages. So if you order a $3 drink, that’s 33% off. You can stop by Square’s pop-up shops to get “exclusive offers”—or even win a month of free parking from paybyphone.
Apple continues to find ways to promote its Apple Pay service. This event certainly isn’t the first time they’ve offered discounts when you use Apple Pay—as they did something similar during the holidays last year for web purchases. And with heavy competition from Venmo, Square, and now banks with Zelle Pay, it probably won’t be the last. So if you have an iPhone or Apple Watch and haven’t used Apple Pay yet (and if you haven’t, you really should), here’s a great chance to discover a more convenient way to buy things while saving a bit of money.
